Dr. Dali Sun, professor in biosensor technology, MATLAB, instrumentation and data acquisition at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science, recently published a research paper titled “Integrated proteomic profiling identifies amino acids selectively cytotoxic to pancreatic cancer cells.”
"Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most deadlycancers, characterized by extremely limited therapeutic options and a poor prognosis, as it is often diagnosed during late disease stages.”
The Ori Miller of five years ago might have been hard-pressed to believe that his time at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Mathematics would bring him to where he is today.
Now having graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science in 2022, Miller immediately began pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science with a research focus in robotics, which he completed at the end of Spring Quarter in 2024. Miller’s research interest began in January of 2021 with Dr. Christopher Reardon, a new addition to the Ritchie School at the time, having joined in October 2020.
We recently had the chance to chat with Jacquelyn Britton, an alumna of the Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science, about how her time at the University of Denver enhanced her skills for a career in Data Science.
The Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science had the opportunity to chat with David Frances, an alumni from our Data Science program as he talks about how a degree in Data Science is worth it!
The rise of OpenAI and ChatGPT has reshaped thinking around Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and its practical use. In the Department of Computer Science at Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science, administrators are responding to the new technology’s ability to churn out code, which could prove harmful if misused by budding computer scientists. Chair of the Computer Science department Dr. Chris GauthierDickey is shouldering concern in stride.
Engineering Week (E-Week) is a recognized multi-day event across the country. The Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science took the week of, February 18-24, to celebrate the valuable work of its students, staff, and faculty with non-stop food and fun.
Hector Rodrigues was not originally planning to join the Equity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program (E-STEM), but he is glad he did. All it took was a few phone calls encouraging him that he would make a good fit in the program as an incoming computer science major at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science of an underrepresented background. In no time, he was fortifying his roots with a community who would provide the support needed for success at the University of Denver.
