DU eSports Club has been home to many competitive eSports teams and several non-competitive gaming communities since 2013. They field competitive teams in games such as League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, and Hearthstone. This year they field two new teams in Rainbow 6 Siege.
Olivia “Oli” Hassan, fourth year mechanical engineering student and President of the DU branch of the Society of Women Engineers, is one of the first cohort members of the Grand Challenge Scholars (GCS) at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science. Hassan is working on the challenge to “provide access to clean water.”
Kingsford Koranteng, a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, recently won the SAE International Myers Award for Outstanding Student Paper at the inaugural SAE Brake Colloquium Student Poster Competition.

Motivated is one the words to describe current undergraduate computer science student Elizabeth Gutierrez-Gutierrez. Gutierrez-Gutierrez attended South High School in Denver and started at the University of Denver (DU) and is a first-generation student.
