Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics Research Studies

The engineers at the DU Center for Orthopaedic Biomechanics work with patients, clinicians, and orthopaedic companies to help improve the future of orthopaedic treatment.

We currently have the following research studies that need participants:

 

Healthy Shoulder Motion Measurement

Participation consists of one session in the DU Human Dynamics Laboratory lasting 90 minutes including full-body motion capture, and a CT scan of your shoulders at a nearby imaging center.

Participants needed: Males and females, with no history of surgery or serious injury to their shoulders. Subjects will be financially compensated $100.

Healthy Knee Mechanics to Aid Joint Replacement

Participation is a 2-hour session in the DU Human Dynamics Laboratory with full-body motion capture and knee x-ray, and a knee CT at a local medical imaging facility. 

Participants needed: Males and females, 40 years of age or older, with no history of surgery or serious injury to their knees, and comfortable with walking and stair use. Subjects will be financially compensated $100.
