Dr. Mahoor received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Abadan Institute of Technology with the highest honor in 1996 and the M.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from Sharif University of technology, Tehran in 1998. He joined the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Miami, Florida in 2003 where he received his Ph.D. in Nov. 2007. As an outstanding graduate student he was granted the Eliahu & Joyce Jury Award in 2007 at the University of Miami. He then worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow at the University of Miami where he received the Marino Autism Research Institute award for his research on facial expressions analysis of children with Autism. Dr. Mahoor joined the University of Denver, Colorado in Fall 2008 where he is currently Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
