The Innovation Labs offers multiple workshops and events each quarter to build community, promote safety, and offer opportunities to gain new skill sets. Nearly all of our workshops are free and open to all DU students, faculty, and staff.

Monday, March 10, 2025 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Blender for 3D printing | Ritchie School Room 107
This workshop will provide students with hands-on experience using the open-source 3D modeling program Blender for the purpose of creating high-quality models for 3D printing. Topics covered will include navigating the UI, editing meshes, importing and using reference images, assigning materials and modifiers to meshes, and importing and manually repairing models downloaded from the internet

CNC Router Basics Workshop
Have you taken the Intro to Woods Lab workshop at DU, but want to learn more? We are now offering a workshop specifically on how to use the CNC Router. Spend an hour learning the ins and outs of our 4 foot x 8 foot CNC router. Safe operation of the router, how to design for, and set up files and materials will all be covered. Due to space constraints, the workshop is limited to the first 7 participants per session.

Wood Shop Safety Orientation
Would you like access to a wood shop on campus? Register for our workshops in the wood shop! They are open to all students, faculty, and staff at DU. Participants must commit to the full workshop time and complete a safety exam to gain access to the facility during open hours. Due to space constraints, the workshop is limited to the first 5 participants per session.

3D Printing and Laser Engraving Workshop
We're offering workshops to train students, faculty, and staff from any discipline in the use of its 3D printers and laser engraver. These are the perfect tools for helping bring your new ideas to life quickly. This event is free to all DU students, faculty, and staff. Due to space constraints, the workshop is limited to the first 10 participants per session.

Intro to Sewing Workshop
Join our upcoming sewing workshop! You'll have the opportunity to work with other sewing enthusiasts and share tips and tricks. All materials will be provided, and you'll leave with the skills and confidence to tackle your next sewing project. This workshop is free and is open to all students, faculty, and staff at the University of Denver.
