What I do

I am starting my research laboratory in the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging. My research vision is to understand how the adaptive immune system regulates neuronal function in normal aging and following traumatic brain injury. I will explore how altered immune responses can regulate age-and trauma-related cognitive and sensorimotor deficits in a sex-dependent manner.

Professional Biography

I received my Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago with Dr. Herbert Mathews. I completed two post-doctoral research positions, one at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center with Dr. Annemieke Kavelaars and Dr. Cobi Heijnen and one at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) with Dr. Susanna Rosi.
