A Note from Dr. Haluk Ogmen
Welcome to this first edition of Pioneering Research, our newsletter devoted to news and information regarding the latest research and innovation from the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver. Each quarter, we will feature awards, accolades and new projects and initiatives in our labs and programs. In this issue we are featuring research highlights of our faculty working in Robotics, Orthopaedic Biomechanics, Unmanned Vehicles, Cardiovascular Biomechanics, as well as a look into our Maker Space – the Innovation Floor.
In addition to sharing the current activities in our labs, we’d also like to recognize our faculty who received the following grants and awards:
- Dr. Mohammad Mahoor was awarded a $1,676,862 NIH Grant for his work in Robotics
- Dr. Chadd Clarry was awarded a $138,700 Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant
- Dr. Ali Azadani, was awarded a grant from W.L. Gore & Associates
- Dr. Breigh Roszelle and team won Best Poster in Mechanical Engineering Division at the ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition for the paper titled ‘What Can DISC and Motivation Profiles Disclose About Student Retention in Engineering?’
