Ritchie School Communications Team

The Ritchie School’s professor, Dr. Amin Khodaei, is one of the PI’s for a new $4 million grant from the Department of Energy.

Information on the project:

The Microgrid-Integrated Solar-Storage Technology (MISST) project will address availability and variability issues inherent in solar photovoltaic (PV) technology by utilizing smart inverters for solar PV and battery storage and by working synergistically with other components within a microgrid community. MISST utilizes the existing DOE-funded microgrid technologies and testbed and is designed to work seamlessly with a dedicated solar PV/storage controller that will be developed in this project. The PV/storage controller will demonstrate the economic, reliability, and resilience benefits of a microgrid-based solar PV/storage solution. Read more here.
