How long have you been at DU?

I’ve worked here for just over a year now.

What did you do prior to coming to DU?

I was the Assistant to the President of Colorado Christian University.

How does your work support the Ritchie School students and/or faculty?

In my department, we manage the Social Media for the Ritchie School with the goal of drawing people into the school.  During events, we bring in speakers to make connections between the school and industry. Our main goals are to further the reach of the Ritchie School and to provide a better experience for those who work and study within it.

What are the best things about the job?

Interacting with students. I love doing events, catering, event setup, and getting to interact with every aspect of the school. We get to collaborate with each department and interact with all the students in one way or the other.

What do you hope to see for the Ritchie School in the coming years?

Unity, for the most part. Between all people; staff, faculty, and students. I hope to work more directly with the students and support their interests and passions.

What is your professional advice for students?

Network with your professors and do as much as you can to get involved with industry professionals on campus. Don't get too tied down to the academic side as going after college is not all about GPA.

How are you involved outside of the Ritchie School with DU?

There is a central events team that meets quarterly. Everyone comes together and talks about how to work together as a school and streamline things to make guidelines. We also work with a bunch of organizations when throwing big events on campus.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I play volleyball a lot, volunteer at my church, cook, as well as hike.  I love to hike in Breckenridge- hanging lake is one of my favorite spots.

What do you think the best Colorado destination is outside of Denver?

My house is my favorite place to be.  The environment in and around my house is just so great.  Washington Park is great to have nearby.

Describe yourself in three words or less:

Empathetic, adventurous, and detail-oriented.

What is the Ritchie School to you?

A place where a student can begin to find their way.  A place where students can interact with professionals and prepare themselves for life and beyond.
