Engineering Week (E-Week) is a recognized multi-day event across the country. The Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science took the week of, February 18-24, to celebrate the valuable work of its students, staff, and faculty with non-stop food and fun.
Hector Rodrigues was not originally planning to join the Equity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program (E-STEM), but he is glad he did. All it took was a few phone calls encouraging him that he would make a good fit in the program as an incoming computer science major at the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science of an underrepresented background. Four Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science students and alums were selected for scholarships and sent to Las Vegas to be at the forefront of cybersecurity with professionals from all over the world at the Black Hat conference.
